Distinguish browser-based photo analysis from statistics, analytics, contact submissions and sharing.
Photo analysis
Selected photos and facial coordinates are processed in the browser and are not sent to a server for facial analysis. This does not mean the whole site transmits no data.
Animal-result statistics
Single-face analysis sends the resulting animal ID to /api/stats. The server stores animal counts and update times. This request body contains no photo or facial coordinates. This count starts at zero separately from legacy statistics that included example data. It accumulates valid animal ID requests received by the server thereafter. Repeat requests may be included; these are not unique users or a population distribution.
External requests and analytics
Network requests load model and runtime files. The site also includes Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity scripts. Local photo processing does not mean visit, device or interaction information cannot be transmitted. External-service settings and retention periods cannot be verified from this code review alone.
Contact submissions
Submitting the contact form sends name, email and message through /api/contact to Slack. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive information.
Browser state and sharing
The analysis screen references photos through data URLs or object URLs. It does not remove every image reference immediately after analysis. Closing a page does not delete original files, downloads or externally shared copies. Immediate complete deletion and absence of all traces are not guaranteed.
Saving a result can leave a file on your device. Sharing can send a result to the app or service you select. Check the content before sending. Analysis processing is distinct from user-initiated saving and sharing.
