What is AI Animal Face Analysis?

WhatZoo calculates seven measurements, including eye slant, facial proportions, and nose and mouth width, from MediaPipe facial landmarks and compares them with animal rules. This is a playful appearance classification. Tiers group content; they do not rank attractiveness or ability.

Animal Face Analysis: From 478 Landmarks to Rule Matching →

How It Works

MediaPipe detects facial landmarks used to calculate measurements such as eye slant and facial proportions. The classifier checks required conditions and counts matching detail rules. If no candidate passes the required conditions, it compares detail rules alone. Tied top candidates are resolved by random selection.

Tips for a Clear Face Photo

  • 1

Use a front-facing photo. Turning or tilting your head can change the measured proportions.

  • 2

Photos taken in bright, even lighting work best. Avoid photos with strong shadows.

  • 3

Remove accessories that cover your face such as sunglasses or masks before taking your photo.

Selected photos and facial coordinates are processed in the browser and are not sent to a server for facial analysis. This does not mean the whole site transmits no data. Single-face analysis sends the resulting animal ID to /api/stats. The server stores animal counts and update times. This request body contains no photo or facial coordinates. This count includes totals imported from the previous database and valid animal ID requests received afterward. Any example counts in the previous database cannot be separated from those imported totals. Repeat requests may be included; these are not unique users or a population distribution.

Why did I get a different animal in another photo?+

Pose, expression and obstruction can change landmark estimates. Even with identical measurements, highest-score ties are resolved randomly, so identical results are not guaranteed.

How accurate is the analysis?+

Landmarks are model estimates and rule-match scores are not accuracy percentages. The tool does not validate personality or career suitability.
